Quick visit to Cuba

A few pictures from a recent visit to Cuba. It was not photography related so not many pictures, but of course, couldn’t miss the opportunity to take a few snapshots.

I went to Havana which was incredible, and indeed full of photo opportunities, but also to Viñales, Trinidad, and Varadero, of which I really don’t have much to comment, besides been abruptly expensive. They are nice but excessively pricey with limited options. If I were to come back to Cuba will definitely be Havana, which is amazing, beautiful people, beautiful places to shoot, the others not sure.

I also wanted to share that I stayed in the following Casas Particulares, (no order of importance), they were really nice people, which did a humongous effort to make your stayed super comfortable and keep there places as neat as possible. Highly recommendable to stay in any of these if you happen to go to Cuba, (don’t stay in Hotels, waste of money):

Clarita and Orlando’s House in Havana – 537 879 7113: we didn’t stay in her house but did have breakfast at her place, we stay at her aunts place on the top of the building, (rosita). Amazing view of havana, and wonderful breakfast, great place to stay in Havana, with really nice people.

Hostal Mirian y Chino in Trinidad – 53 41 992237, wonderful place right there close to everything. Clean, and great breakfasts.

Casa Lustre – Varadero 53 58 211 239 and Beny’s House – http://www.benyhouse.com/AboutUs.aspx, both super neat and clean. Casa Lustre was a bit farther away from downtown, but have a beautiful garden in front of the room to have breakfast an rest.

Some picts with a Leica M, Sony RX1 and with an iPhone.

  1. We stay at Casa Lustre whenever we’ve passed through Varadero during our 3 months of travel in Cuba. Lydia is a wonderful host.
