Street Portraits – Sao Paulo

A few more pictures of my series People from Sao Paulo. As before, all of these pictures were taken on the street, from people I didn’t knew before and with their complete approval. D800 + 35mm 1.4 or a 85mm 1.4.

Some friends have asked me how I approach people and if it isn’t uncomfortable for them to have their pictures taken, actually most of them love it. But it’s important to always be polite, thankful for their time, and if possible, always give them the picture back, by email or even better printed, it actually belongs to them. A respectful attitude will always take you a long way, tell them why you want their picture taken, ask them about their life and who they are, we live in a world where most of the people seem to be pissed off, so a smile takes you a long way!. And never be pushy if the say no, just say thanks and continue walking.

Thanks for looking!
